Enjoy the warming Spring sun on the excellently prepared Ski pistes. The ski season ends mid April, and hiking and mountain bike enthusiasts can start planning their adventures again from May onwards.

Celebrate the end of the Winter season on the Lauchernalp, within April month. After the snow has disappeared, the unique flora of the Lötschental is at its most beautiful. This takes place during the late Spring (June), when the birds are chirping again and the wild flowers bloom in bright colours. With 200km of marked hiking trails, the Lötschental becomes a paradise for leisurely hikers, as well as mountain bikers, once more.

This largely unspoiled valley with its picturesque villages, offers visitors a relaxing holiday experience, close to nature and off the beaten track. In summer, the Lauchernalp showcases a variety of leisure activities for all ages. Hike the high trail from the Lauchernalp, past the idyllic Schwarzsee, to the Fafleralp and the Langgletscher. Explore this glacier snout of the Langgletscher, or search for mountain crystals in crevices and caves with the whole family. Many of these scenic trails can also be used directly by mountain bike, or even e-mountain bike enthusiasts.

Lötschental, has one of the densest larch forests in all of Valais, and you are definitely going to want to be there right when they put on their Annual show, taking place around the month of October. ‘My Switzerland’ has a foliage map that is updated several times a week, showing the current and predicted foliage colors. Whether hiking, mountain biking or a love for photography, Autumn will provide you with an extraordinary colour experience.
